The Department of physiology is actively engaged in providing a spectrum of comprehensive knowledge, and service of the highest quality to students including research activities. The mission is to enhance the students understanding of the function of cells, tissue and organs.
The Curriculam is designed to provide the understanding of cellular and moleccular mechanisms of systems and integrative physiology. Our undergraduate students receive training in theory and practical physiology.
They also have the opportunity to indulge in reserch activities and to carry out small funded Projects. They are also encouraged to present papers in state and national conference.
We also teach the students the applied aspects of physiology which will help them to enhance their knowledge of pathophysiology.
The curriculum include seminars, integrated lecture series, both horizontal and vertical.
Physiology curriculum includes various systems, blood and body fluids, skeletal muscle, gastrointestinal system, endocrine system, excreatory system, cardiovascular system respiratory system, reproductive system and special senses.
The undergraduates are trained in haematology and clinical physiology practicals.
