Overview: About the Department

Since its inception, the Department of Anaesthesiology at Bhaarath Medical College Hospital has been providing safe and structured patient care during the perioperative period and efficient pain management services in state of art modular Operating rooms.

This Department is providing comprehensive clinical care, catering to surgical specialties such as General surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Ophthalmology and encompasses laparoscopic surgeries, urology, Labour analgesia, Arthroscopy and interventional pain management.

Teaching Activities

The department of Anaesthesiology is actively involved in teaching under graduate (MBBS), B.Sc. Allied health sciences (Anaesthesia technology) & B.Sc. Nursing Courses. The eminent Professors and teachers render methodical teaching including hands on training to all the students.

Hands on training is provided in Basic Life Support, IV cannulation and other basic techniques in the Skills Lab. Highly skilled techniques such as Endotracheal intubation is also taught on mannequins to enable Doctors and staff in the emergency departments handle resuscitation.

In addition, every week intra and inter departmental seminars, journal club and case discussions are organised. CMEs and updates are also conducted.

Research Activities

All faculty members are motivated and actively participate in research activities. Some faculty are research scholars, having enrolled in PhD programmes.
